About
Anthony Chiappone

Biography
Anthony Chiappone (he/him) is an award-winning composer, engraver, and bassist currently based in Boston, MA. Musically, he takes a wide inspiration from multiple areas of influence, such as impressionism, spectralism, and mathematical processes. As founder of AC Score Preparation, he works to make the music of living composers accessible, while still providing professional-grade score preparation and distribution services.
Originally from Rochester, NY, Anthony holds a Bachelor in Music from the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), and he is pursuing his Master in Music at the New England Conservatory (Boston, MA). During his studies, he has specialized in music composition, film scoring, score preparation/engraving, conducting, and double bass—and has studied with composers such as Michael Gandolfi, Beth Denisch, Tim Huling, and more.
Anthony’s music has been described as “darkly refreshing,” exploring the boundaries and intersections of impressionism, spectralism, and everything else associated with today’s modern classical composer. Past performances have taken place all over the world—in cities like Boston (US), Pavia (Italy), Premilcuore (Italy), and Nice (France)—and have been performed by notable world-class musicians and ensembles, such as Dr. Ayke Agus (past accompanist to Jascha Heifetz), the NEC Philharmonia (under the direction of Hugh Wolff), the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra (under the direction of Julius Williams), and the Iktus Percussion Ensemble. He has also participated in composition intensives worldwide, including the Altschuler Summer Music Institute (Premilcuore, Italy), the Zodiac Music Festival (Nice, France), and the Screen Music Program (Pavia, Italy).
As a bassist, Anthony is trained in both classical, and jazz repertoire—and has recorded on numerous recording sessions. Most notably, he was a session musician for film composers at Berklee, and also served as a section leader for numerous orchestras on campus. He also served as a music director for the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra for his last two years of his undergraduate studies, where he led rehearsals, built concert programs, and worked closely with arrangers to bring fan-favorite soundtracks to life.
